Family says girl suffered brain damage during dentist visit

HOUSTON, TX (WCMH)– Her family says she went to the dentist to have a tooth pulled; now the 4-year-old girl is in the hospital with severe brain damage.

According to KTRK, Nevaeh suffered the brain damage when she was sedated at the dentist. Now she can’t talk, walk or even see.

“It’s heartbreaking. It really is like…I never in a million years would have thought something like this would happen,” her father Derrick Hall said.

According to KTRK, the dentist, Dr. Bethaniel Jefferson, was suspended by the Texas Board of Dental Examiners from practicing after the incident, and cited him for not calling 911 when the girl began to have seizures.

“At this point there’s nothing else that can be done to get that same four year old back. It hurts to see her like that, “Neveah’s mother Courissa Clark said.
