Man arrested for kidnapping grandmother, smoking meth

MARION CO., OR (WCMH)– The Oregon man is facing charges that he kidnapped his own grandmother and forced her to drive him around while he smoked meth.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in Oregon, 22-year-old Robert White was staying in a hotel that his 87-year-old grandmother had paid for, when she told him to leave because her money had run out.

Deputies said that when she went to pick him up from the hotel, the man pulled a knife on his grandmother and forced her to drive him around for 12 hours while he allegedly smoked meth.

White eventually called 911 himself and was later arrested. His grandmother was not harmed in the incident.

He has been charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, kidnapping, menacing, criminal mischief and a violation of a protective order.
