Regal Cinemas bans 6-year-olds from R-rated movies

KNOXVILLE, TN (WCMH)– Kids who are six and younger won’t be allowed to see an R-rated movie at Regal Cinemas anymore, even if a parent is with them.

According to Regal Entertainment Group’s new admittance procedures, children under the age of six will be allowed to attend R-rated features.  Also, theatre employees may be outside R-rated films to check tickets and identification to prevent minors from seeing the movie.

AMC Theatres policy states that children under six will not be allowed to see R-rated movies after 6pm.
