Tree falls during storm, narrowly missing Virgin Mary statue

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (CNN/KRIS) — A Texas woman is calling what happened in her yard a “miracle” after a large tree fell during a storm at her home in Corpus Christi over the weekend, and the only thing it didn’t knock over was the Virgin Mary statue.

Drivers passing by the home will notice a huge tree on its side. But when you take a further look, you’ll notice the Virgin Mary statue that is still standing upright, touching the fallen tree.

Lily Amador, the homeowner said, “I think, I would call it a miracle, because I am Catholic and I have a lot of faith, and I think the good Lord was taking care of us and I think she had a lot to do with the tree not falling towards the house.”

Amador says there have already been people stopping by to see the miracle for themselves. She’s now working on getting the tree removed and her fence repaired.
