Thieves steal from police at event to remember CPD officer who died

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Thieves made off with two Columbus police officer’s gear while the officers were attending an event to remember one of their own.

Both officer’s vehicles were parked in the Ohio BMV parking lot on Kenny Road. The officers were across the street at an event to remember Officer Brad Forster, who died suddenly last week.

While the officer’s weren’t looking, thieves busted out the windows of thier personal vehicles and stole several items inside, including:

  • A duffle bag containing a CPD flight suit & flight jacket
  • An FAA pilots license
  • An FAA medical certificate
  • A walkie radio
  • A CPD Honor Guard raincoat
