SALINA, UT (WCMH) — A police chief in Utah used April Fool’s Day as a chance to prank some unsuspecting motorists with his cat Froo Froo.
Salina, Utah, Police Chief Eric Pratt posted the video the department’s Facebook page.
In the video, he pulls the motorist over for doing about 11 miles over the speed limit and gives them the normal speeding talk.
Then he changes things up and says “I’m with the feline unit, the Salina Police Department’s Feline Unit and I do have my feline partner with me.”
He then gets Froo Froo, his cat, and brings him back to the vehicle.
“So what I’m going to do, I’m going to deploy my cat around the outside of your vehicle. If the cat indicates the odor of a controlled substance, we’re going to from there, OK? Does that make sense to you?”
After pulling the prank for a few minutes, he lets the people in the car in on the joke.
They both had a good laugh when Pratt owned up and let them off with a warning.
Pratt also mentions in the post that no tax payer’s dollars were spent for the stop because he made it on his own time.
