Police: Man shot twice in east Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus police are investigating after a shooting on the city’s east side leaves a man injured.

According to Columbus police, at about 4:01pm Sunday, officers in the area of East Main Street and Berkeley Road reported hearing gunshots.

Police found a 32-year-old man who was shot twice in the leg. He told police he was standing on the sidewalk next to his vehicle when a man shot at him multiple times with a handgun.

The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.

Police said the victim was not being cooperative with officers during the investigation, but they are searching for a black male, wearing dark clothing, who was seen running westbound on Main Street after the shooting.
