Meyer eager for “calm” week at Buckeye spring football

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Last week, it was “chaos” at Ohio State, and that was by design. Saturday, OSU players scrimmaged in front of 2,500 students on student appreciation day. It was a wild scene as students surrounded the team during practice. Urban Meyer says that “chaos” was intentional–to challenge his players to handle different situations.

This week, Meyer says he wants a week of calm and focus at practice so he and his coaching staff can make some critical personnel decision. Meyer says having 11 potential starters missing spring drills due to injury has made setting a depth chart quite difficult.

In this session with reporters Tuesday, Meyer discusses handling of recruits, the depth at receiver and defensive line concerns. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
