WHITEHALL, OH (WCMH) – Whitehall police have made an arrest after a man was shot and killed in an east Main Street parking lot Saturday night.

According to Whitehall police, Emanuell Moncrief was arrested and charged with murder.

Whitehall officers were sent to a parking lot on the 4600 block of East Main Street after a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found 55-year-old Edward Earl Braswell suffering from a gunshot wound.

Braswell was taken to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that Braswell was arguing with a man just before the shooting.

“There was an argument over money. That word was specifically heard,” said Whitehall Sgt. Dan Kelso.

Moncrief was taken to the Franklin County Jail where he is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.
