Man, woman arrested in double homicide at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

REYNOLDSBURG, OH (WCMH) – Police have arrested a man and a woman on two counts of murder after a double-fatal shooting in east Columbus Tuesday.

Connor C. Jeffries, 21, and Mia V. Shamis, 19, were taken into custody Wednesday, police say.

Both suspects faced a judge Thursday morning where bonds were set at more than a million dollars. Tap here for the latest.

According to Columbus police, officers were called to the 6500 block of Tussing Road at an Enterprise Rent-A-Car on a reported shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Police said two vehicles pulled into the parking lot behind Enterprise. There was a brief conversation between four people (two from each vehicle). The suspect reached into the victim’s car and fired shots.

According to the 911 call, one of the victims died in the vehicle. The second ran into the garage area of the rental center. He was then taken to Grant Medical Center where he later died from their injuries.

Police have identified the victims as 20-year-old Gary Ashton Francis and 21-year-old James Earl Miller Jr.
