Fire Chief: crash into home ‘1 in a million’

DAYTON, OH (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating a crash into a home early Wednesday morning.

It happened in the 600 block of Kenwood Ave. near Salem Ave. in Dayton at around 4 am

Officials say the driver of a gold Buick drove southbound on Salem Ave., lost control of the car, clipped a tree, ran over a hill, jumped over an air conditioning unit, and into a covered porch.

A fire official we spoke with said he’s never seen anything like the crash due to where the car came to a stop.

Witnesses tell WDTN they tried to help the female driver; however she ran away from the scene.

WDTN spoke with the homeowners, and they said they were sleeping upstairs at the time of the crash. Neither were injured.
