Field hockey Olympian holds youth clinic in Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The road to becoming an Olympic athlete starts at a very young age and Sunday two-time USA Olympic Field Hockey star Kelli Smith-Puzzo visited Columbus to hold a youth clinic.

Smith-Puzzo held the USA Youth Hockey Development clinic at Columbus Academy.

In 2008, Smith-Puzzo was part of the U.S. team in Beijing and in London in 2012. She says central Ohio stands the largest hub for youth hockey in the Midwest.

Smith-Puzzo says she’s happy to spread her knowledge of the sport and one of those learning from her was, Caroline, daughter of NBC4’s Ellie Merritt.
