COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Investigators are trying to find a man who stole a gold neck chain from a northeast Columbus jewelry store earlier this month.
Officials spotted the unidentified man entering Lucky’s Gold, 4370 Cleveland Avenue, at about 5:23 pm on April 1. He was looking at various pieces of jewelry and asked an employee if he could try on a specific chain. Once the suspect had it in hand, he immediately turned and ran out of the store according to officials.
He was last seen fleeing on foot southbound on Cleveland Avenue from Morse Road, but not before surveillance cameras got a glimpse of the suspected thief.
Officials described the suspect as a black male with a small build and medium complexion. He has a short afro, mustache, beard and goatee. He was last seen wearing a loose-fitting gray hooded sweat jackets and pants, white t-shirt and black shoes. He was also wearing a black baseball cap with a red bill with the words “BOSS” in green, white and red lettering across the front. He was seen carrying a beverage and small plastic bag at the time of the crime.
