Busy weather night causes issues in some parts of central Ohio

An evening of stormy weather caused a mess in some parts of central Ohio Tuesday.

In Grove City, the ramp off Stringtown Road to I-71 southbound was closed due to high water. Next to the ramp, rain pooled in the grass and created standing water. ODOT workers reopened the ramp to traffic about 8:30 p.m.

From heavy rain on the highways to hail, it was a busy night for weather in Central Ohio.

Down south in Pike County, it wasn’t just rain that fell during the late April storm. Photos from the area show ice and hail that looks like snow.

In some spots, the roads were a little wet. One driver on I-71 northbound said he hydroplaned and lost control of his car, which sideswiped NBC4’s live truck.
