Columbus Police looking for potty parts snatcher

COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH)–The Columbus Division of Police is looking for a man suspected of stealing parts from toilets at several Columbus-area establishments.

Police say this “bathroom bandit” has been picking apart commodes at various restaurants on Georgesville Road and West Broad Street. He has also been to the Kmart on Stringtown Road and to Mount Carmel West Hospital.

“The businesses are not only going to have to replace those parts but get a plumber to pay for the labor to get it replaced,” said Public Information Officer with Columbus police Denise Alex-Bouzounis.

Police say the suspect walks into the men’s restroom, disconnects the plumbing, and leaves with the stolen parts in a backpack.

“it’s one of our more unusual crimes, but it’s still a crime,” said Alex-Bouzounis. “It’s a felony.”

He is described as a white male, 40-50 years old, between 5’7″-5’11” and weighing 180-200 pounds.

He has been seen driving a black Honda Accord. Police say the suspect can’t wash his hands of the crime, as he faces multiple felonies.
