One person dead, two injured in single-vehicle crash on I-70

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person has died after a crash on Interstate 70.

Police and medics responded to reports of a one-car crash after 8pm Sunday on I-70 eastbound near Hamilton Road.

Columbus police say a 26-year-old woman  lost control of a 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan before crashing into a guardrail. The impact of the crash caused a front seat passenger, identified as Roy Gohr, 26, to be ejected from the vehicle. He died on the scene.

The driver and another passenger, a 4-year-old girl, were both taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition according to police.

Eastbound lanes of I-70 were shut down for about four hours on Sunday.

The crash remains under investigation. This is the 21st traffic fatality in 2016.
