Quaker Oats recalls granola bars over listeria concerns

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) Two types of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars have been recalled by the company due to a possible listeria contamination.

The recalled items are listed here:

  • 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Chocolate Nut Medley with UPC code 30000 32241 and Best Before Dates of 10/16/2016 and 10/17/2016
  • 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Yogurt, Fruit & Nut with UPC 30000 32243 and Best Before Dates of 10/10/2016 and 10/11/2016

Listeria monocytogenes (L. mono) can be serious and sometimes fatal for children, the elderly or those with weak immune systems.

No cases of listeria related to the granola bars have been reported to date.

Anyone who bought these granola bars can return them to the store where they bought them for a full refund.
