ROANOKE, VA (WCMH)–Even in death, Mary Noland is taking a jab at politicians.
The Virginia woman’s obituary, published after she died Sunday, made a tongue-in-cheek reference to the upcoming election: “Faced with the prospect of voting for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, Mary Anne Noland of Richmond chose, instead, to pass into the eternal love of God on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the age of 68.”
Her husband Jim told NBC12 in Virginia that Mary Anne died after a long battle with lung cancer. Jim said one of their sons penned the opening line to Mary Anne’s obituary and said it was a way to keep her sense of humor present.
Jim told the station that his wife was “feisty, strong and compassionate” and had spent many years as a wound care nurse. He and Mary Anne had been married for almost 46 years.
