Former Marysville teacher sentenced for having sex with student

MARYSVILLE, OH (WCMH)–A former English teacher at Marysville High School has been sentenced for having a sexual relationship with a student, court records show.

Stacy L. McConoughey pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual battery and was sentenced to 180 days at the Tri County Jail on Tuesday, court records show.

She was charged with having sex with a male student starting in October of 2014 and continuing until May of 2015. The victim was 18 years of age, and a senior at the high school. The student had been enrolled in McConoughey’s English class as well as being her teacher’s aide. The student graduated from the school in 2015.

She has been labeled a Tier 3 sex offender and must register in-person every 90 days for life. She will be under post-release control for five years.
