2-year-old critically injured in northeast side fire

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–The Columbus Division of Fire says a 2-year-old girl is in critical condition after a fire in the 1600 block of Minnesota Avenue.

fireBattalion Chief Steve Martin said the girl was injured from heat exposure and smoke inhalation. The fire started upstairs in the home.

Martin said the fire was accidental, and that it was started while one of the children was playing with fire.

Three other children in the home were able to get out safely. A neighbor made the 911 call.
