COTA to begin daily routes to Columbus Zoo, Zoombezi Bay

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Starting May 31, it’ll be a lot easier for people to get to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium when COTA will begin providing travel to and from the park.

It’ll be $2 each for travelers to take the COTA Zoo Bus, and they’ll receive half-off admission to the park or $4 off Zoombezi Bay admission, which will also include access to the zoo.

From downtown, the Zoo Bus (Line 98) departs from the High Street stop at the Statehouse at 8:10am, 9:40am, 11:10am, 2:40pm and 6:10pm.

From the Zoo, the Zoo Bus departs at 9am, 10:30am, 12pm, 3:30pm and 7pm. This route stops at the Griggs Dam Park & Ride and at select stops downtown before returning to the Statehouse.

The estimated bus travel times are about 40 minutes each way, which is comparable to personalized vehicles coming from downtown Columbus, according to the zoo.

During the summer the Zoo will be open daily 9am-7pm. Zoombezi Bay will be open from 10:30am to 7 or 8pm depending on the month. You can check for details.
