COLUMBUS (WCMH)–A Columbus man has been found guilty of raping his girlfriend’s daughters at his home, Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced Friday.
Alberto P. Hernandez, age 55, was found guilty of four counts of rape in connection to the sexual assaults that occurred between June 9, 2014 and February 4, 2015 to a then 8-year-old and a 14-year-old at the home where he lived located at 2897 Atwood Terrace in Columbus.
O’Brien said Hernandez faces a potential sentence of life in prison.
Hernandez raped both of the girls while his girlfriend, age 44, was present and participating in the assaults.
On January 11, 2016, the girlfriend plead guilty to two counts of rape.
As part of her plea, she will be required to register every 90 days for life as a Tier III sex offender. Both the defense and prosecution have made a joint recommendation of the mother serving 10 years in prison when she is sentenced on June 9. Hernandez is scheduled to be sentenced on May 31.
