FAYETTE COUNTY (WCMH) — One minute, the roadways are clear. The next, you can’t see the front of your own car.
That’s what drivers in northern Fayette County experienced Sunday afternoon during a windy storm.
A semi truck driver and NBC4 viewer shared his dashcam video of the near blackout. He told Storm Team 4 meteorologist Ben Gelber that the winds were straight-line without rotation, driving along Interstate 71 near mile marker 75, about halfway between Grove City and Jeffersonville, when the storm hit. Ben was tracking a strong gust front ahead of a line of intense storms moving through southern Madison County.
Wisely, most drivers pulled off to the side of the road to let the dust storm pass.
