MADISON COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — Nearly 15 months after a truck driver was struck and killed, investigators are still seeking information on the driver that troopers say fled the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the death of Douglas Griffin, who was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 70 eastbound near West Jefferson.
Troopers said the crash at about 3:30am on March 3, 2015. Two Fed-Ex semi-trucks were pulled over on the right shoulder. One vehicle was disabled, and the other was on site to assist. Griffin and Michael West were outside of their trucks trying to hook up a trailer to one of the semi cabs.
That’s when troopers said another semi struck both men, killing Griffin and causing serious injury to West.
That truck continued down I-70 without stopping. Investigators do not have any solid leads to identify the suspect driver or vehicle and are asking the public for new information.
