Prom held for patients at children’s hospital

MIAMI, FL (WCMH) — A Florida children’s hospital hosted a special night for past and present patients by having them trade their hospital gowns for prom dresses.

According to WSVN, teenage patients at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital were treated to their own special prom Friday.

Themed “Hollywood Premier Night”, the hospital went all out for the teens age 13 to 19; filling rooms with balloons, hiring caricature artists and of course a full day of being dolled up.

Dozens of past and present patients danced the evening away.

“Man it makes us feel good that they care enough to put something like this, we really appreciate it and we finally have a good time, you know.  God is good,” said one of the prom attendees.

For at least one night, teens at the hospital got to feel like the kings and queens they’d dreamed of being.
