COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on the city’s east side.
Columbus Police officers were called to 4113 Larry Place around 1:30pm Tuesday on the report of a shooting. That’s where they found 26-year-old Lawrence White in the driveway suffering from gun shot wounds.
Police say White was transported from the scene to Grant Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Police say White was apparently visiting a relative when 25-year-old Quantae Marques Hill allegedly came out from between buildings, confronted him for an unknown reason and opened fire with a handgun.

Police say Hill then fled in a dark-colored ‘mini-hummer’ according to witnesses. He was stopped on Nelson Road, south of East Main Street.
Police say Hill is custody and has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting.
Larry Place is the same location where Gerald L. Bishop II, 31, was found shot and killed June 11.
Dalon Smoot was arrested as a suspect in Bishop’s shooting, but police say there seems to be no connection between the two shootings.
Columbus Police is encouraging anyone with additional information about the incident to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 645-4730.
