Police still searching for suspects after father and son shot in Newark

NEWARK, OH (WCMH) – A father and son were hospitalized Monday after a shooting in Newark.

Thomas McCarty, 42 and Shawn McCarty, 20 were shot around 2:30pm Monday at a home on the 600 block of Glenbrook Drive, according to Newark police.

Police said three suspects fled immediately after the shooting. One ran away, while the other two fled in a pickup truck.

The 16-year-ol suspect who ran was taken into custody and questioned by detectives.

Police are still looking for the other two suspects, last seen in a white or light gray full size pickup truck with no tailgate and large tires that protrude past the bed of the truck.
