Shooting victim found in southeast Columbus neighborhood

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Homicide investigators were called after a body was found outside a southeast Columbus home.

Medics were called to the area of S. Champion Avenue and Oakwood Avenue just before 6am this morning after someone discovered the body.

Police say when officers arrived on scene they found Rayshaun Steward, 31, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Steward was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
