Clintonville residents get ready for severe forecast

CLINTONVILLE OH (WCMH)–Clintonville residents are preparing for the severe weather predicted for Wednesday night.

Tom Williams has lived in a Clintonville neighborhood for 30 years. Wednesday he focused on cleaning up branches and debris in his yard just in case he has to cleanup again on Thursday.

“I’m trying to get this out of the way before the storm comes,” said Williams.

He said he is ready if the power goes out.

“I have a generator. That’ll help a lot, “said Williams.

Sean Marshall lives on Clinton Street.

He is concerned that his basement will flood if the area gets heavy rain.

“(I) gotta make sure my electronics and my sound equipment isn’t getting covered in water. I’ve done some preventative stuff and gotten the rugs up,” explained Marshall.

Mark Roff , manager of Schreiner Ace  Hardware,  said his store is stocked with all of the necessary items to get residents prepared for severe storms.

“We’ve actually been selling the Rayovac lantern. They take 4 D batteries which we’ve got plenty of. We’ve actually got some of the back stock on D batteries,” said Roff.

Roff says his store is fully stocked with lawn bags, rakes, chain saws and flashlights. He also said customers can order generators.
