Teen arrested for discharging weapons into a residence

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–Columbus Police say they have arrested a 17-year-old boy after he reportedly fired multiple shots into a dwelling on Morrill Avenue Wednesday morning.

Police say they were called out to the 600 block of E. Morrill Ave. around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses provided officers with a description of the suspect’s car, and police were able to find him “in the immediate area” of the south side residence.

The officers searched the car and found shell casings, ammunition and a loaded automatic handgun in the suspect’s vehicle. The teen was arrested and charged with two counts of discharging weapons into a habitation and one count of improper handling of weapons in a motor vehicle.
