Franklin County Dog Shelter offering reduced adoption prices on some dogs

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–Need a best friend? The Franklin County Dog Shelter says it is overcrowded, and is reducing adoption fees for dogs over 30 pounds.

The shelter says that effective immediately, adoption fees are waived for dogs over 30 pounds. The only cost is an $18 dog license. Any dog who has been at the shelter for more than 30 days is also $18.

On Sunday, the first 200 dogs and their owners get a free microchip starting at 9 a.m.

All dogs available for adoption are vet checked, behavior tested, spayed or neutered, given vaccines and heartworm prevention, and microchip.
