SWAT officers respond to west Columbus home

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police SWAT officers responded to a home on North Roys Avenue near West Broad Street at about 4:30 Saturday morning.

Police said officers initially responded to a report of shots fired from the house, and when officers arrived the situation escalated because the suspect or suspects refused to come out of the house.

In all, police took six people into custody, but there is no information on charges at this point.

The shots that were fired hit a nearby house, but no one was injured.
