PHILADELPHIA, PA (WCMH) – A Pennsylvania woman was killed Sunday when police say her boyfriend shot her with a crossbow.
Police found the victim collapsed in a pool of blood in her neighbor’s doorway. Investigators initially thought she had been stabbed, but later determined the 42-year-old woman had been hit with an arrow from a crossbow, according to WCAU.
“The bolt from the crossbow penetrated her body, went through the couch, and into the wall,” said Philadelphia Police captain Anthony Ginaldi.
According to investigators, officers have responded to the home several times before on domestic violence related calls.
The suspect, believed to be the victim’s boyfriend, was arrested. It was not immediately clear what he will be charged with.
The identity of the victim has not been released by police.
