Man stabbed while breaking in to motor home

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – A Columbus man was stabbed over the weekend when the owner of a motor home found him inside stealing money.

It happened Saturday when the motor home was parked on the 3100 block of South Hamilton Road, near Eastland.

Police said the 55-year-old owner of the motor home found 39-year-old Gary Hamilton inside. When confronted, police said Hamilton tried to fight the owner.

Hamilton was cut with the knife while the owner was defending himself, according to police.

Hamilton was arrested and charged with burglary. He appeared in court this morning where bond was set at $50,000.
