Apple granted patent to block pictures, videos during concert

CUPERTINO, CA (WCMH) — Smartphones may soon be blocking you from taking those pictures and videos during your favorite musician’s concert.

Apple has been approved for a patent on technology that would stop smartphone cameras from working at concerts.

According to the patent, a smartphone camera would receive coded infrared signals beamed in public places that can alter what you see on your camera.

Essentially, your smartphones camera would be temporarily disabled and prevent you from recording the concert.

The same technology could be applied to prevent someone from recording a movie.
