Car theft suspect kicks Columbus Police officer, is arrested

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–The Columbus Division of Police said one of their officers was kicked by a suspect on Thursday evening.

An officer stopped a car reported stolen on Genessee Ave., just before 7 p m.

Police say there were multiple suspects inside the stolen car. One of them kicked the officer, who was transported from the scene in stable condition.

That suspect that kicked him is under arrest.

The other suspects in the vehicle are being questioned. It’s unclear if they will be arrested in connection with the incident.
