VIDEO: 87-year-old Ohio man attacked, robbed

CINCINNATI, OH (WCMH) — Police are still searching for the suspect seen on video viciously beating and robbing an 87-year-old man.

“I hope he don’t kill me – That was it, that was all I was thinking,” James Hayes told WCPO about the attack.

Hayes, who works at LaRosa’s arrived for his 5am shift last week when the attacker threw a large rock or piece of concrete at him.

Hayes fell to the ground where the attacker began to punch him and beat him with his own cane.

“He broke my cane off and that was it… because I had one of the wooden canes and that’s why I got so many bruises on me,” Hayes said.

After being beaten the suspect goes through Hayes stuff and steals his wallet. The attacker then takes Hayes’ car, leaving him in the parking lot.

Hayes suffered no broken bones but several bruises. “I just thank God for that. Because it could have been worse.”

Hayes car was recovered, but police are still searching for the suspect.
