Although most strains of E. coli are harmless, others can make you sick. E. coli O121 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration. Seniors, the very young, and persons with compromised immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illness.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and contact Continental Mills at 1-800-457-7744 for information about a full refund.
Continental Mills said that a supplier informed the company that blueberry nuggets used in the pancake mix could contain flour recalled by General Mills due to the presence of E. coli.
