BURLINGTON, VT (WCMH) — Julia Ruth Stevens, the daughter of the Great Bambino, has reached the century mark.
According to WPTZ, Stevens shook hands and signed autographs at a Vermont Mountaineers baseball game just a week before her birthday.
Stevens explained how she would inspire him at his games, “I went to a lot of games and every time my father would come up to bat, I would say ‘Hit that apple in the eye and you’ll see how fast it’ll fly’. Lots of times it worked!”
Babe Ruth made his major league debut for the Boston Red Sox in 1914 but spent most of his time as a New York Yankee. Ruth would finish with more than 700 home runs.
