TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — A bicyclist has been killed after hitting live wires from a power line while cycling along a Florida beach Wednesday morning, officials say.

Police say the person was biking eastbound on the bike path near Whiskey Joe’s, which runs next to the Courtney Campbell Causeway, when he came in contact with a live electrical wire around 6:40 a.m. Tampa Police, Tampa Fire Rescue, and TECO were called to the scene.
