Police pull over driver for using LED headlamp instead of headlights

GUELPH, Ontario (WCMH) – Police in southwestern Ontario cited a man for driving his car in the middle of the night with no headlights and wearing a battery operated headlamp.

It happened Monday near the Springfield Golf Course in Guelph.

An officer said he observed what appeared to be a bicycle light moving north on the road at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle approached the officer’s parked vehicle, he realized it was a speeding car with no headlights.

Instead, the driver was wearing a LED headlamp on his forehead.

The 35-year-old driver was charged with speeding and operating an unsafe vehicle.
