COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A west side landscaping company is looking for the suspect who stole more than $17,000 in items and killed two guard dogs during a March burglary.
Investigators said three unidentified men were caught on surveillance cameras breaking into Five Seasons Landscaping at 590 N. Wilson Road in Columbus at about 2:42am on March 13.
The suspects poisoned two German Shepherd dogs that were guarding the property, according to investigators. The male dog, named Chief, died as a result of the poisoning. A female dog, Jesse, appeared to have survived the poison but was badly beaten by the suspects to the point where she had to be euthanized.
The burglars then cut through the fence and went on to the property, where they stole six Meyer-brand snow plow pumps valued at $17,287.58. They left the property in a four-door sedan.
Investigators said the dark video makes it difficult to spot any other details, but they are asking for any tips that can help identify these suspects.
