Woman sues Goodwill after chair she was thinking about buying collapses under her

GAFFNEY, SC (WSPA)– A South Carolina woman filed a lawsuit against Goodwill Industries of Upstate Midlands SC after a chair collapsed from under her and she hurt herself, according to a lawsuit.

The lawsuit alleges the woman sat in the chair to see if she wanted to buy it and then the chair gave way. She fell on the cement flooring and suffered great bodily injury, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims there were no warnings or markings that the chair was weak or not designed to support more than a certain amount of weight.

The woman is hoping for a judgement against the Goodwill Industries of Upstate Midlands SC, Inc. for both actual, compensatory and punitive damages in amounts to be determined at jury trial.
