Two-alarm fire at Lancaster event center

LANCASTER, OH (WCMH) – Firefighters spent much of the night fighting two-alarm fire at an event a Lancaster concert venue.

It started around 2am at the Glass City Event Center at 431 S Columbus St in Lancaster.

When firefighters arrived, they saw fire coming from the first floor of the building and quickly called for a second alarm.

The fire took crews more than an hour to get under control.

According to Chief David Ward, it appears the fire started in the basement. The cause remains under investigation.

According to the venue’s website, the Glass City Event Center is an indoor/outdoor venue that can accommodate between 100 and 2500 people for concerts, weddings, and other events.
