Simone Biles' mom sends super sweet message on Twitter

Before Simone Biles, three-time world all-around champion and favorite for multiple golds in Rio, officially makes her Olympic debut, her mother sent a sweet message to her on Twitter.

Nellie Biles doesn’t tweet a lot, but when she does it’s to send words of love and encouragement to the superstar athlete who also happens to be her daughter.
Simone will compete today in the qualification session in hopes of qualifying for the team, all-around, beam, floor and vault finals, setting herself up to possibly win five gold medals. Watch Simone and the U.S. women at 4:30 p.m. ET in subdivision 4.
Nellie and Ron Biles adopted Simone and her sister Adria when they were toddlers. Their biological mother, Ron’s daughter, suffered from addiction issues and wasn’t able to take care of her children. The girls moved to Houston, Texas to live with their grandfather and his wife, and now Ron and Nellie are simply Mom and Dad.
Simone’s mother has been giving her daughter pep talks for years. “It started in 2013 after a little bit before I made the world [championships] team,” Simone recalled. “I used to be so hard on myself and she’s like, ‘You know what, just go out there and be the best Simone that you can be. You don’t have to compete against anybody.  It’s just you and yourself out there.’
“So that always just helped me calm me down… I am very fortunate that I have these parents that can come with me and support me and I can go to them after a bad day or after a good day and they’re always still love me. They don’t care what I do because I’m always their Simone.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
