METAIRIE, LA. (AP) — Authorities say a Metairie man whose body was found floating in Lake Pontchartrain had been tied to a boat propeller, beaten and drowned.
Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich said Tuesday that 59-year-old Dale Crage died of drowning with blunt force trauma to his face, head and ribs.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/2b0gmFH ) reports that children walking along the lake’s edge at the Bonnabel boat launch in Metairie discovered Crage’s body on July 27.
The coroner says Crage had been in the water for several days before he was found.
He says a flexible wire had been used to tie a boat propeller around Crage’s waist.
Authorities are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an indictment in connection with the slaying.
