Walsh Jennings, Ross fall to Brazil in first ever Summer Games loss

Olympics: Beach Volleyball-Women's Team-Preliminary Rounds

COLUMBUS (WCMH/ AP) Americans Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross have been beaten by Brazil in the beach volleyball semifinals.

The pair lost to Agatha and Barbara of Brazil in straight sets just after midnight Tuesday night.

Walsh Jennings, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, had never lost a match in the Summer Games.

The American duo will take on other Brazilian team, Talita and Larissa,  for the bronze medal.

Agatha and Barbara will take on the Germans for gold.
