Two men shot at west side middle school, police looking for suspect

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–Two people were reportedly shot at Wedgewood Middle School last night. The Columbus Division of Police says it happened around 8:10 pm Wednesday.

The victims were identified as 19-year-old Masalah Mohamed and 18-year-old Ali Shariff. Shariff spoke to police and told them he and some friends were sitting in a car when a man pulled up in a black SUV and told them, “Don’t move.” The unidentified man then pulled out a gun and started shooting at the car, hitting Shariff in the leg and Mohamed in the back.

Shariff was taken to the hospital in stable condition, while Mohamed was transported in critical condition and later stabilized.

Police are investigating.
