Don’t like chicken but like chicken nuggets? Today is your day

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Have a kid that doesn’t like chicken, but likes chicken nuggets? You aren’t alone.

Warning, this song will be stuck in your head all day.

Dip it in ketchup and he’s gonna love it
early in the morning, late at night
He’s never seen a nugget he didn’t like.

The video was put together by Columbus-based group JustKidding, featuring 11-year-old Maya, seven-year-old Maya, six-year-old Ceylon and two-year-old Caleb.

According to WhatNationalDayIsIt.com, August 19 is National Chicken Nugget day, so head over to your favorite fryer of nuggets and order some.

Ever wonder just what is in a chicken nugget? According to the National Chicken Council, chicken nuggets are simply made from meat from a chicken. Most chicken nuggets start as meat from a split breast of chicken. Other meat from legs and things could be added.

The meat is ground and formed like a meatball, then breaded and cooked.

The National Chicken Council says that mechanically separated chicken, also known as pink slime, is not typically used in chicken nuggets or patties. If it is used, it must be declared as an ingredient on the label.

McDonald’s, one of the largest servers of chicken nuggets, recently announced that Chicken McNuggets no longer contain artificial preservatives.
