Man reportedly tries to lure girl with candy in Lewis Center neighborhood

LEWIS CENTER, OH (WCMH) — The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of someone driving around a Lewis Center neighborhood and asking children if they want some candy.

It happened Saturday on the Allison’s Street in Lewis Center.

According to a police report, a man in an older model gray Honda Accord with a scratch on the driver’s side door asked a nine-year-old girl if she wanted some candy.

The girl was with another child when the man asked the question. Both children turned and ran straight home.

Another man tried to follow the Honda, but lost sight of him in the area of South Old State Road and Orange Road.

Deputies attempted to run the licence plate number reported by witnesses, but the results were not for the correct vehicle.

Another incident was reported on Eventrail Drive in Powell where a red Oldsmobile reportedly followed a 12-year-old girl and her friend through the neighborhood. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
